Mt. Adams, a secret mountain

Towering over 12,000 feet, it is the second highest peak in Washington.
Rarely seen from Portland and the Gorge, Mt. Adams sits due east of Mt. St. Helens and about 30 miles north of Hood River. The western half of the mountain is covered by the Gifford Pinchot National Forest and the eastern half by the Yakama Indian Reservation and crowned by the Mt. Adams Wilderness area.
