When client Gerry Ellis asked about creating a website home for his new Talking Apes podcast, we jumped at the chance. The podcast was almost a year old but was buried among the abundant content on the GLOBIO website. It needed a separate home to serve the growing podcast audience.
Along with the opportunity to work with a well-established library of podcasts and Gerry’s award-winning photography came the chance to develop a light-hearted logo featuring a sweet orangutan wearing headphones!
It is always a plus to support a non-profit doing good in the world. This is a unique opportunity to widen the audience of this important podcast with the goal of educating listeners about the plight of our closest animal cousins through conversations with researchers, wildlife vets, primatologists, and environmental activists. A strong social media campaign is bringing in new listeners weekly.
It’s not every day an opera singer contacts you for a website. Susan J. Platts has sung for audiences around the world, but when the world of music shut down due to the Covid-19 pandemic, she decided to write her own cookbook. And what a delightful cookbook it is!
“Aria Ready for Dessert” features scrumptious recipes from the British tradition illustrated with mouthwatering photos by her husband, Neil Kimmel. Once the cookbook was done, she realized she needed a website to promote her book and to be home for a blog about her love of British baking. Sirius Media was delighted to help.
This was such a fun project to work on! The result is a truly delicious website that inspires visitors to be creative in the kitchen and try new culinary adventures. We got to fine tune her logo, explore recipe post formats, and add a book sales page to the site.
We were thrilled when author Kathy Belge reached out to me for a website that would be home for her travel blog, podcast, and online sticker shop featuring designs by Tay Juncker. This was our first podcasting site, so there was a lot to figure out. We tried two different podcast hosting platforms, and learned that having a wide range of features is no good if the product isn’t easy to use. Kathy’s done a great job of updating her blog posts with the latest podcast episodes. I love hearing the stories of empowered women traveling solo on the road. I encourage anyone to subscribe to her podcasts, Travels with Squeaky!
As everything went online during the pandemic, client Sarah Blattler and her sister, Haidee Copeland, Ph.D. Education, asked Sirius Media to help them create branding and and an online course for teachers covering techniques for teaching students with learning differences.
The logo expresses the concept of student growth and diversity using vibrant primary colors and simple shapes. The website itself features 10 learning modules driven by online membership via the LearnDash LMS platform for WordPress.
By incorporating quizzes, videos, powerpoints, assignments, grading, and note taking, these lessons allow the students to progress at their own pace while earning completion certificates and badges. And it all works on mobile devices!
